Quality Technician

Role Description:

Applies knowledge of the quality function to assure compliance to our Quality Policies and Procedures. Must perform work in accordance with all customer standards. This individual will be responsible for maintaining applicible quality systems as outlined below. Provides assistance to the senior quality staff as needed to fulfill internal & external customer needs.

• Dimensional evaluation of production parts, first/last piece approvals, and audits as required by the quality system.
• Work with production associates to assure the proper usage of measurement instruments on the production floor.
• Work with production associates to assure the proper usage of inspection instructions on the production floor.
• Assist in the design and development of new quality systems.
• Perform special quality studies.
• Assist in problem solving of quality issues at customer facilities as needed.
• Prepare reports for customer review as needed.
• Provide feedback on dimensional concerns to toolroom, engineering, and manufacturing.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times.

Work Environment

Employees also may be subject to certain environments such as working near loud moving mechanical parts. Noise Level

The noise level in the working environment will be moderate with slight traffic and the sound of presses and machinery. Ear protection may be required.

Education/Experience/Certifications:

To effectively carry out duties and responsibilities in the job position the following education, experience, or certifications are preferred:

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED

Experience:

• Minimum five years quality experience.
• Minimum five years in metal stamping/operating CMM machine.

Certifications:

• None

Computer skills :

• Experience with basic computer systems.

Communication skills:

• Speak effectively with fellow employees or customers.

• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, etc.
• Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Mathematical skills:

• Apply mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as basic algebra.
• Must be proficient in basic shop math and geometry

Other Skills:

• Detail oriented.
• Organized and able to meet deadlines while performing multiple duties.
• Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
