Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Operating Room Registered Nurse is responsible for providing specialized perioperative care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. This role requires ensuring patient safety, assisting surgeons, and maintaining sterile environments to facilitate successful surgeries.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and prepare the operating room for scheduled surgeries.
• Assist surgical teams by providing necessary instruments, supplies, and support during procedures.
• Monitor patient vital signs and overall condition throughout the surgical process.
• Follow strict infection control protocols and maintain sterile technique.
• Document all surgical activities accurately in patient records.
• Adhere to facility policies, including attendance standards and shift requirements.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid Michigan RN license with verification through LARA and Nursys.
• Possess a minimum of 2 years of OR nursing experience.
• Complete a skills checklist within one year of application for RN specialties.
• BLS (AHA) certification is required.
• Preferred experience in Orthopedics, General Surgery, Endovascular, Urology, or Obstetrics.
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, patient safety, and infection control.
