Nuclear Medicine Technologist

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist utilizes imaging, computer, and other equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of human anatomy and physiology. Prepares patients for procedures and educates them while addressing questions and concerns. Ensures age-appropriate communication, safety needs, and patient education. Demonstrates understanding of patient positioning, imaging techniques, radiation safety, and infection control. Oversees and trains students providing patient care and services. Verifies the ordered exam for appropriateness using assessment data. Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals to patients. Positions patients and equipment to achieve optimal images. Works with physicians to evaluate images and determine if additional images are needed. Applies radiation safety techniques to minimize exposure for patients and staff. Ensures effective communication and addresses patient concerns throughout the process.
