Position: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

Location: City, State

Shift: 19:00 - 07:00 (Night Shift) - 13 Weeks Contract

Unit Overview

The nursing unit provides exceptional care in a dynamic healthcare environment. The 5N MedSurg unit is equipped with 30 beds and staffed by a dedicated team, ensuring a supportive atmosphere for both patients and healthcare professionals.

Unit Details

• Unit Size: 30 Beds
• Staffing:
  
  
  • Day Shift: 1 CNC/Charge Nurse, 5 RNs, 3 CNAs, and additional sitters as needed
  • Night Shift: 1 CNC/Charge Nurse, 5 RNs, 2 CNAs, and additional sitters as needed
• Patient Ratios: 1:6
• Equipment Utilized: Feeding pumps, IV pumps, lift equipment, wound VAC, PCA, oxygen
• Electronic Medical Record: Meditech

Position Requirements

• Must-Have Skills:
  
  
  • BCLS Certification
  • Critical Thinking Skills
• Preferred Skills:
  
  
  • ACLS Certification
  • IV Skills
  • Experience in Orthopedic and Kidney Transplant care
  • Central Line and Foley Management
  • Experience caring for cardiac, renal transplant, dialysis, pulmonary, GI, and diabetes patients

Typical Procedures Performed

• Breathing Treatments (performed by Respiratory Therapist)
• Chronic Wound Care
