Location: Charlotte, NC

Pay: $20-$26/hr

Job Description

As a Carpentry Technician, you will perform a variety of tasks including the upfit of commercial office and warehouse spaces, integrating new structures with existing ones, and repairing or replacing ceilings, flooring, and drywall. Your work will include framing with metal or wood studs, trim work, crown molding, baseboards, chair rail installation, and more.

Responsibilities

• Perform upfits of commercial office and warehouse spaces.
• Integrate new structures with existing structures.
• Repair and replace ceiling, flooring, and drywall.
• Conduct framing with metal studs or wood.
• Execute trim work, crown molding, baseboard, and chair rail installations.
• Install wall fixtures, doors, tiles, cabinets, and safety handrails.
• Complete punch list work.

Essential Skills

• At least one year of carpentry experience.
• Ability to understand blueprints, sketches, or building plans.
• Knowledge of machines and tools for carpentry and woodworking.
• Proficiency in arithmetic and basic geometry related to carpentry.
• Knowledge of basic building layout and leveling.
• Ability to travel and work nights and weekends as needed.
• Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Competence in comprehending safety instructions and signage.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in finishing, trim, painting, commercial carpentry, and restoration.
• Skill in measuring, framing, construction, carpentry, finish carpentry, and installation.

Work Environment

This position involves working in a commercial construction environment, where you will engage in general labor tasks, from site cleanup to material running. Flexibility is required as night and weekend shifts may occur.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlotte, NC.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
