Overview

Job Shift Swing

Description

1. Operates the horizontal pressure sterilizing retorts, hydrostatic, and FMC Sterilmatic cookers with minimal supervision.
2. Loads and unloads retorts when required.
3. Sterilizes and cooks product according to Quality Assurance specifications.
4. Determines that process indicator paint has been properly applied and verifies that indicator paint has turned color (pink to white) indicating that the product has been properly cooked.
5. Responsible for physically lifting up to 100 pounds.
6. Keeps area clean in accordance with good housekeeping practices.
7. Adheres to common safety practices and regulations including the wearing of protective equipment and clothing as required.
8. Adheres to the Company's plant hygiene standards to ensure high product integrity.
9. Reports any mechanical and/or safety issues to Supervisor immediately.
10. Should not leave work area unless given permission by the Supervisor and/or Leadperson.
11. Responsible for the execution of food safety, legality and quality policies and procedures within the scope of the job responsibilities such as but not limited to: GMP's, HACCP, safety, product quality, food security, plant security, etc.
12. Performs other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor and/or Leadperson.
