Position: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Location: Hempstead, New York
Shift: Full-Time
Salary: $35–$40 per hour (based on experience)
Nassau Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a compassionate and motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our interdisciplinary rehabilitation team. This full-time opportunity is ideal for a dedicated professional committed to helping patients improve their independence and quality of life.
Job ResponsibilitiesAssist in the development and implementation of individualized patient treatment plans
Conduct therapeutic activities under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
Monitor and document patient progress and communicate updates to the supervising OT
Instruct patients and families on treatment plans and proper use of therapeutic equipment
Support patients in improving cognitive, physical, and emotional functioning
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Modify treatment plans in collaboration with the Occupational Therapist as needed
Educate patients and families on daily tasks and rehabilitation activities
Collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes
Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
NBCOT certification
Current state licensure/certification as required
Nursing home or skilled nursing experience preferred
Minimum of 2 years experience preferred
Prior experience in a healthcare setting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to adapt to diverse patient needs and environments
Proficiency with occupational therapy tools and equipment
Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards
Compassionate, patient-centered approach
Familiarity with SigmaCare and Net Health preferred
