Chemical Plating TechnicianShifts:1st shift - 6:00am - 2:30pm Monday - Friday2nd shift - 2:15pm - 10:45pm Monday - FridayAt Anoplate, you will have a secure future with opportunities to move up in our business. We will train you and you will not be working on the same products day after day! Our Chemical Plating Technicians begin by learning how to prepare customer parts for the plating process. From there, your pay & career will continue to grow as you learn more surface finishing skills. There are opportunities to move into more advanced Chemical Plater roles or grow into quality assurance roles, environmental operations roles, on-the-job trainers, or maintenance roles. We value the skills and experience our employees gain on the production floor and promote them from within to other professional roles.In This Role You Will:Use a variety of chemical solutions and finishes such as copper, zinc, gold and nickel to coat the surface of customers products to change the properties of the parts and enhance their durability.Understand and adjust plating equipment (ex. Rectifiers, pumps, hoists, filters, etc.) when necessaryRead and interpret blueprints and customer work orders (Traveler).Follow specific procedures to perform routine chemical plate operations on Defense, Medical and Aerospace parts.Fill baskets, racks, and/or barrels with parts to be coated or plated and immerse into cleaning solutions, or spray objects with conductive solutions to prepare them for plating.Grind, polish or rinse parts in water and dry parts.Inspect coated or plated areas for defects, such as air bubbles or uneven coverageFollow specific procedures to adjust voltage, monitor time, determine thickness of coating etc., in order to brush plate a variety of parts with various metal.Remove excess materials or impurities from objects, using air hoses or grinding machines.Operate hoists to place workpieces onto machine feed carriages or spindles.Operate sandblasting equipment to roughen and clean surfaces of workpieces.Plate small objects, such as nuts or bolts, using motor-driven barrels.Visually inspects own work for quality of product.Requirements:In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:High school diploma or equivalentCapable of working diligently around chemicalsAbility to perform basic arithmeticAbility to pass an eye exam including a color-blind testStrong attention to detailAbility to work in a team environmentWillingness and commitment to wear PPE regularly, including:Long sleeved chemical resistant gloves while changing chemicalsSafety goggles while on the shop floorChemical resistant safety aprons while working on the shop floorAppropriately fitted respirator masks while changing chemicalsAbout Us:For over 60 years, Anoplate has provided metal finishing solutions in the aerospace, medical, military and high-end plating industries.
