Dietary Aide - Part-time

Homemaker PositionThe Homemaker has responsibilities in the following areas food service and providing and coordinating activities. Responsible for housekeeping duties in the common areas of the Household. In collaboration with Dining Services, the Homemaker will prepare and serve food for household meals and snacks that are healthy and appetizing and served in a timely manner, maintaining high quality standards and portion control. The Homemaker will maintain assigned areas in a clean, sanitary, safe, orderly and attractive manner in accordance with established procedures and as guided by the Household Coordinator. The Homemaker participates in all activities for the residents for socialization and enhance experience while living in the community. Homemakers will assist the House Hold Coordinator and the Life Enrichment Leader to develop activities and event planning. The Homemaker works cooperatively with residents, coworkers, families, visitors and volunteers to create a positive and pleasant environment.Essential Duties And Responsibilities:Coordinate with Dining Services to prepare and serve appropriate snacks and meals.Follow menus and recipes correctly, making any necessary or requested substitutions appropriately.Understand liberalized therapeutic diets (using "real food first"), and special food requirements and finds ways to make such modifications palatable and enjoyable.Regularly elicit residents' preferences in choice of foods, menus, recipes and presentation.Maintain a warm, pleasant atmosphere for the residents.Facilitate kitchen-related activities for residents; ensures necessary supplies, equipment and utensils are available; organizes any necessary cleanup activities.Maintain clean spaces in assigned areas of responsibility.Learns residents' likes and dislikes for programs and activities.Assists Household Coordinator and Life Enrichment Leader to develop activity calendar based on residents' preferences.Assist with encouraging residents to participate in community programs.May provide one on one social visit if needed by the residentsComply with all regulatory sanitation requirements pertinent to the physical environment and maintain the kitchen in accordance with those regulatory standards, which includesDocumentation of Food temperatures, Refrigeration (all) temperatures, dishwasher temperatures daily for each meal servedTimely reporting of kitchen/equipment repairs via Workhub data systemAssist with laundry duties of the household as assigned.Complete annual compliance (RELIAS) and HIPAA training and exhibits behavior as set forth by the Code of Compliance in the performance of their duties.Adhere to the Organization's Policies and Procedures regarding the Corporate Compliance Program of the organization and is timely in reporting any possible concerns.Follow all local, state and federal regulations as they pertain to their position.Adhere to the Organization's Policies and Procedures covering Privacy and Security in the Compliance with HIPAA regulations.Attend monthly in-services as required.Perform other duties assigned as related to the essential functions of the position.Standards Of Excellence:Spirit Of Unity And Teamwork - Willing to assist and support co-workers; flexible to a change in work assignment; participate in team meetings; value the contributions of all and include all in decisions that will affect them.Respect - Recognize the dignity and value of each person; appreciate, embrace and celebrate diversity; speak to others and about others in a kind manner; respond to and give direction with emotional control; maintain privacy and confidentiality in personal matters; always knock on the door before entering a room; treat the property of others carefully and responsibly.Spirit Of Hospitality And Relationship Building - Greet each person I meet; welcome new residents, families and co-workers; courteous and friendly in manner; build positive relationships.Communication - Listen attentively to others and respond respectfully; share important information with those that need to know; address concerns with the appropriate persons and work with them together to resolve the concerns.Responsibility, Sense Of Ownership And Stewardship - Assumes responsibility for the Villa's reputation; open to new ideas and new approaches to the job.Compassionate Care And Service - Respond to residents needs in a timely manner; take time to speak with family members; give timely feedback to persons who express concerns; foster a healing environment within the Villa communityEducational Requirements:Minimum high school diploma or equivalentServe Safe educatedExperience/Knowledge/Skills:Experience in working in the field of long term care with the aging population preferred.Understand needs of an aging populationCommitment to person-directed principles and valuesCommitment to supporting a resident's independence, autonomy, and honoring their decision-making capability within the constraints of their cognitive and/or physical declineFlexibility to adapt to a changing environmentPhysical And Environmental Requirements:Heavy to moderate physical effortBalance of sedentary/mobility workAbility to communicate verballyReading/seeing/writing requires far and near visual acuity, field vision, and color vision to read written communicationsMust be able to write legiblyEye-hand coordination and finger dexterity to perform the duties of Homemaker#SJVG123
