Joining our Firm means becoming part of a team devoted to keeping families together and “Changing as Many Lives as Possible.” About the Role The Operations Staff Attorney reviews immigration applications and immigration court matters and prepares motions and related filings under the supervision and guidance of senior attorneys, helping clients obtain immigration benefits and remain united with their families. Responsibilities include service as the attorney of record on assigned matters, communicating with clients, and providing emergency hearing or USCIS interview coverage, as needed. The attorney ensures filings are accurate, complete, and consistent with approved legal strategy; coordinates necessary corrections; meets deadlines; and escalates complex or non-routine legal issues to senior attorneys. This is a Remote role for Attorneys based in The United States. Your Key Contributions · Serve as attorney of record in assigned immigration matters by filing Form G-28 with USCIS or Form E-28 with the immigration court, as applicable. · Support the development and implementation of legal strategy for assigned matters obtaining senior attorney direction and approval for strategy decisions and escalating complex or non-standard issues. · Review draft immigration applications, responses to Requests for Evidence, appeals, and court filings in accordance with instructions from senior attorney instructions and approved legal guidance. · Evaluate assigned filings and supporting evidence for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and alignment with the case strategy; identify, track issues, and make necessary revisions before submission. · Work with appropriate team members to obtain additional information and correct deficiencies, ensuring that all identified issues are resolved before approving filings for submission · Communicate with clients to answer questions about their cases, generally through an interpreter; clearly explain next steps and document material communications in the case record. · Attend master calendar hearings in immigration court when emergency coverage is needed, with preparation and substantive guidance from senior attorneys as appropriate. · Meet established daily attorney review goals based on team assignments while maintaining required accuracy, legal review, and professional judgment. · Monitor assigned filing and hearing deadlines, prioritize work, communicate status and obstacles, and escalate risks that could affect timely completion. · Maintain organized case records, review notes, and documentation of legal decisions; protect confidential client information and incorporate senior attorney feedback into subsequent work. What Makes You a Great Fit The candidate should have a J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school and be an active member in good standing of a state bar Fluency in both English and Spanish (written and spoken) is a must Ability to follow detailed directions EOIR number preferred, or commitment to obtain one within the first month of employment. Foundational legal research, drafting, and document review skills; ability to follow detailed instructions and complete assigned tasks under close senior attorney supervision. Experience using a case management software system preferred Interest in immigration law Support mission of helping people currently living in America obtain their documents and stay together with their family Computer skills (Typing - MS Word and MS Excel, Document Management-DropBox, Email - MS Outlook) Work Schedule Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Compensation The expected salary for this role is $65.000-$69.750, though the final offer will reflect several factors such as your experience, skills, and the role's location and may be outside of this range. Candidates should expect offers that reflect their individual qualifications, experience, and location. The salary provided is directional, and actual compensation may vary.
