Our client, a major PBM (Pharmacy Benefit Services) entity owned by 20 non-profit health plans serving >33 million members and benefits manager of government programs including Medicare and Medicaid, seeks an accomplished Clinical Pharmacist .
Job Title: Clinical Pharmacist
Location: Fort Worth – 13501 Park Vista Blvd, TX 76177
Duration: 3 months with possible extension
Schedule:
- This is an onsite role.
- Fort Worth, TX (Onsite/Hybrid – Must live within one hour driving distance of 13501 Park Vista Blvd., Suite 150, Fort Worth, TX 7617
- Training: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM CST
- Post Training: Mixture of Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM CST and 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM CST
- 40 hours per week
- Hybrid option available after meeting performance metrics
Must-Have Requirements:
- Active Texas Pharmacist License in good standing
- Minimum 2–3 years of direct patient counseling experience
- Must reside within one hour driving distance of the facility
- Comfortable counseling patients and being on the phone 7–8 hours per day
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong clinical judgment
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive pharmacotherapy reviews, including drug utilization, compliance, interaction screening, and side-effect management
- Counsel patients on new therapies and provide ongoing clinical support
- Document clinical interventions and patient assessments within pharmacy systems
- Coordinate patient care with physicians, nurses, caregivers, and healthcare providers
- Support REMS programs and comply with specialty pharmacy protocols
- Process and verify prescriptions accurately and timely
- Perform final verification and quality assurance checks of dispensed medications
- Assist pharmacy technicians with claim adjudication and workflow issues
- Monitor compliance with state, federal, Medicare, Medicaid, and Board of Pharmacy regulations
- Provide education regarding medication administration and treatment plans
- Report adverse events and product quality complaints as required
- Support patient intake and therapy management programs
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff
- Participate in on-call coverage as directed
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy
- Current and unrestricted Pharmacist license in good standing
- Licensed in Texas and authorized to practice pharmacy
- 3–5+ years of pharmacy operations, clinical oversight, or patient care experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service orientation
- Working knowledge of pharmacy systems and computer applications
- Ability to maintain compliance with continuing education requirements
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience in specialty pharmacy and patient counseling
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and government-funded payer requirements
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Understanding of pharmacy quality assurance and compliance standards
- Ability to obtain additional state licenses as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- BCOP Certification or willingness to obtain certification when eligible
- Specialty pharmacy or oncology pharmacy experience
- Experience supporting REMS programs
- Knowledge of sterile technique and pharmacy quality control processes
- Prior experience supervising pharmacy technicians or support staff
