Drivers operate Class A commercial vehicles while servicing customer locations, collecting food waste, transporting totes, and ensuring all routes are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with DOT regulations and Denali safety standards.Drivers are responsible for maintaining equipment, completing required documentation, and building strong customer relationships while operating in various weather conditions and challenging work environments.This is a Safety-Sensitive Position requiring sound judgment, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to the safety of yourself, your coworkers, our customers, and the motoring public.ScheduleRegional routes assigned by managementAverage of 45–50 hours per weekFlexible schedule based on operational needs and seasonal demandsOccasional weekends and overtime as requiredHome daily or overnight routes depending on business needsEssential Duties & ResponsibilitiesSafely operate Class A CDL tractor-trailers in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies.Operate both manual and automatic transmission commercial vehicles.Haul organic materials using 30–45-foot open-top dump trailers and combination vehicles.Safely collect, transport, and unload food waste and customer materials.Lift, move, and maneuver totes weighing up to 75 pounds throughout the workday.Perform complete pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections.Crawl underneath trucks and trailers to inspect slack adjusters, brake components, air lines, suspension, and other DOT-required equipment.Maintain trucks, trailers, and assigned equipment in clean, safe operating condition.Perform minor repairs using basic hand tools when appropriate.Utilize Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) and maintain accurate DOT logs.Complete contamination reports, service tickets, DVIRs, maintenance records, and other required documentation.Communicate professionally with dispatch, operations, customers, and vendors.Report accidents, injuries, equipment failures, or safety concerns immediately.Attend weekly safety meetings, operational briefings, and required training sessions.Follow all company, DOT, OSHA, federal, state, and local safety regulations.Perform additional duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsValid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL)Current DOT Medical CardMinimum 2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experienceClean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)Clean PSP preferredStable work historyAbility to pass DOT drug screen and background checkMust successfully complete a road testMust be at least 23 years old with two years of verifiable tractor-trailer experienceMust be at least 21 years old with one year of tractor-trailer experience and be a graduate of an accredited CDL school or have one year of military driving experience.No DUI/DWI convictions within the past three years.No DOT Drug & Alcohol violations within the past three years.Must reside within the designated hiring area.Ability to read, write, and speak English sufficiently to comply with DOT regulations.Preferred QualificationsExperience operating open-top dump trailersPrevious route driving experienceExperience hauling food waste, agricultural products, or bulk commoditiesElectronic Logging Device (ELD) experience (PeopleNet or similar)Hydraulic equipment knowledgeGrapple truck or heavy equipment experienceWaste, recycling, transportation, or environmental services experienceRequired Skills & AbilitiesSafe operation of manual and automatic transmission commercial vehiclesExcellent time management and route planningStrong customer service and communication skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionMechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic equipment inspectionsBasic computer, smartphone, and tablet proficiencyAbility to safely work around hydraulic systems and heavy equipmentPhysical RequirementsThis position is physically demanding and requires the ability to:Regularly lift, carry, push, pull, and maneuver up to 75-pound totesFrequently climb on and off trucks and trailersCrawl underneath trucks and trailers to inspect slack adjusters, brakes, suspension components, and air systemsBend, kneel, squat, twist, stoop, and reach throughout the workdayWork outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, humidity, and dusty environmentsWork safely around moving equipment and heavy machineryTolerate strong odors associated with food waste, grease, farms, and organic recycling operationsSafely enter and exit commercial vehicles numerous times during each shiftPerform repetitive physical tasks while maintaining safe work practicesWhat we offer:Mission-driven work in a rapidly growing sustainability companyOpportunities for professional growth and learningCollaborative, values-driven team cultureCompetitive salary and benefitsWhy You'll Love Working at Denali- Benefits & PerksAt Denali, the work we do begins and ends with you – our employees.
