• Current and Full License by the State of Michigan
• Meet all requirements as specified in the Revised Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education

Responsibilities:

• Maintain requisite knowledge, understanding, skills, and dispositions for effective practices related to utilizing research-based models, theories, and philosophies for serving students with an array of disabilities within different educational environments. Plan, collaborate, facilitate and implement the standards of physical therapy with students in accordance with the policies, philosophy and goals of the federal, state and local expectations.
• Evaluate and screen students with or suspected as having a disability through a multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) model. Design accommodations, modifications and Individual Educational Plans to facilitate student growth in the areas covered by physical therapy. Effectively communicate, consult, and collaborate with families and other team members to support the growth of the individual child. Work cooperatively with para-educators, other therapists, social workers, and other educators.
• Attend required staff meetings and other contractual obligations.
• Provide therapeutic support to students to address identified deficits. Maintain organized service logs and individual progress documentation to be submitted throughout the school year. Perform comprehensive evaluations and re-evaluations in all areas of physical therapy development.
• Prepare, implement, monitor and report on individual student goals and objectives.
• Prepare complex schedules to serve students while being flexible with other professionals.
• Understand and conform to all Federal and State Special Education Rules and Regulations.
• Timely complete all required documentation. Perform other duties as assigned by Special Education Administrator(s).
