If you enjoy solving complex, interdisciplinary problems with a world-class team, we'd love to hear from you!What You Might DoLead, grow and mentor a high-performing embedded software team in a startup environmentServe as a technical leader and escalation point for complex hardware/software integration issuesCommunicate technical vision, risks, and progress clearly to cross-functional and executive stakeholdersOwn system-level strategy, architecture, and technical direction across multiple productsDrive execution of low-level driver and framework software development in C and C++ across multiple devices and operating systemsOversee integration between hardware and software, ensuring alignment across cross-functional teamsGuide performance, power, and thermal optimization effortsBalance hands-on technical involvement with team leadership, including design reviews, mentorship, and delivery accountabilityPartner with internal and external stakeholders to define roadmaps, priorities, and deliverablesEssential Qualifications 10+ years of experience in system software engineering and / or embedded platform software development5+ years leading engineering teams, including mentoring, hiring, team growth, and navigating ambiguity in fast-paced environmentsDeep expertise in system design and architectureProficiency in embedded C and modern C++Experience with development on Windows, Android, or LinuxExperience developing stable APIs that ensure backward compatibility, scalability, and maintainability across system software platformsProven experience leading teams in fast-paced environmentsExperience driving cross-functional programs from concept to deliveryPreferred SkillsFamiliarity with optimization tools such as Perfmon and Perfetto. Working knowledge of Java and/or KotlinExperience porting reference algorithms to hardware accelerators (GPU, DSP, etc.)Experience with board bring up, driver development, and communication protocols like I2C, SPI, and UARTFamiliarity with ARM System-on-Chip (SOC) architectureExperience developing bare-metal firmware for microcontrollersAbility to use common lab equipment (e.g., logic analyzers) to debug low-level SW issuesSalary Range: $179,000 - $252,000Compensation & Benefits (Full-Time Employees)The salary range for this role is listed above.
