Job Description\n TalentBurst, Inc is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Lake Charles, Louisiana.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Labor and Delivery\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 09/28/2026\n Duration: 12 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Title: Travel Labor and Delivery RN\n Location: Lake Charles, LA\n Duration: 13 weeks\n SHIFT: NIGHTS - 7:00PM-7:00AM\n START DATE: ASAP\n Types of patients/cases on the unit: deliveries, circulating c-sections, antepartum patients, attending to newborns in the initial newborn assessment.\n Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications\n BLS required\n RN License in state of employment or compact\n Current certification required from one of the following: AWHONN Intermediate FHM Instructor, AWHONN Instructor Trainer, or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) (certification received 1 month after passing test date***)\n Current NRP certification required\n Current ACLS certification required\n Weekend Requirement\n Yes\n On Call Requirement\n No call\n Floating Requirement / Locations\n No floating\n Nurse / Patient Ratio\n AWHONN standards:\n 1:1 on Pitocin for induction or augmentation\n 1:2 cervical ripening (Cytotec or low dose Pitocin)\n 1:2-3 Antepartum (depending on acuity)\n 1:2-3 Triage\n 1:1- Immediate postpartum (2 hours postbirth) (mother & baby)\n Dress Code\n Navy blue or pink scrubs\n Summary:\n The competent Nurse, in the same or similar clinical setting, practices independently and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care, with the ability to on long-range goals or plans. Continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as a means to help manage the clinical situation.\n Responsibilities:\n Meets expectations of the applicable One*** Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.\n Consistent with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.\n Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patient and families in accordance with their level of practice.\n Using the appropriate protocol, administers medications and treatments; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed.\n Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.\n Assess learning needs and provides education to patients, family members and/or care givers; identify issues and resources.\n Job Requirements:\n Education/Skills\n Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred\n Experience\n 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred\n Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications\n BLS required\n RN License in state of employment or compact\n Current certification required from one of the following: AWHONN Intermediate FHM, AWHONN Intermediate FHM Instructor, AWHONN Advanced FHM Instructor, AWHONN Instructor Trainer, or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM)\n Current NRP certification required\n Current ACLS certification required\n Position Requirements:\n Education/Skills\n All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.\n New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member and initial on-boarding requirements are validated through successful completion of the designated organizational entry competency validation and a Perinatal Services-specific competency validation.\n Completion of all annual competency verification requirements.\n Experience\n Perinatal RN Residency, or recently practicing in a Perinatal Setting is preferred.\n Work Schedule:\n 7PM-7AM\n Work Type:\n Full Time\n #LDNurse1\n TalentBurst, Inc Job ID #26-29723.
