Job Summary BW Papersystems, part of the Barry-Wehmiller Group, is offering a $1,000 sign‑on bonus for experienced machinists. In this role, you will plan and perform rough and finish turning, drilling, tapping, boring, facing, recessing, thread cutting and similar machining operations on a variety of shafts, housings, heads, and parts made of ferrous and non‑ferrous metals and alloys. You will machine parts to specifications using mills, lathes, saws, and grinders. Key Responsibilities Plan and perform rough and finish turning, drilling, tapping, boring, facing, recessing, thread cutting and similar machining operations on a variety of shafts, housings, heads, and parts of various ferrous and non‑ferrous metals and alloys. Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as micrometers and Vernier calipers. Calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematical knowledge and instruments such as micrometers and Vernier calipers. Interpret and analyze blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate implementation of operational sequence. Set up, adjust, and operate basic machine tools and specialized or advanced variation tools to perform precision machining operations. Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines. Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machine process. Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials for preparation of machinery work. Maintain clean and orderly work areas and equipment, reporting and correcting unsafe work practices or conditions immediately. Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Multi‑task various duties throughout the day and maintain a positive attitude with versatility and flexibility. Communicate and interact with various teams and teammates to solve problems independently. Basic Qualifications and Requirements High School Diploma or GED equivalent. 2+ years of experience working within a manufacturing environment. Compensation The approximate pay range for this position is $23 per hour to $30 per hour. The final compensation may vary based on factors including background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
