Corrections Program Supervisor - Substance Use Disorders

Position Summary The major goals of this position include clinical supervision, direction, and evaluation of treatment staff comprised of certified Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Social Workers-Corrections and Treatment Specialists in an SUD program. This position is responsible for the administration and evaluation of the Earned Release Program (ERP) and for performance of public relations duties. The position must supervise certified SUD treatment providers that possess a Substance Abuse Counselor – In Training (SAC-IT), Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC), or Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) certifications. Salary Information This position is in pay schedule and range 81-03 with a starting pay of $45.00/hour to $49.41/hour . Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A probationary period is required. The position may receive a $2.00 to $4.00 per hour add‑on pay based on the type of SAC or Clinical Supervisor credential possessed at the time of hire, as allowed in Section A (4.27) of the Compensation Plan. It is FLSA Exempt. Anticipated schedule: Monday–Friday 7:45 AM–4:30 PM. The position is anticipated to share the on‑call responsibilities of the Administrative Duty Officer, which will occasionally involve work on nights, weekends, and holidays. This position is not anticipated to travel on a regular basis, but most DOC positions occasionally travel for training, meetings, conferences, or similar events. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application. The Department of Corrections may conduct pre‑employment drug screens. Experience performing staff supervision or leadership (e.g., planning, directing, evaluating, coordinating, assigning, training, monitoring, etc.). Experience ensuring patient compliance with procedures (e.g., observing and reporting behaviors, de‑escalations, emergency responses, etc.). Experience evaluating treatment programming for effectiveness. Experience developing and/or implementing behavior modification programs. Experience recommending evidence‑based interventions to resolve problematic behavior. Special Requirements Must possess a credential issued by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services in the form of an Independent Clinical Supervisor‑License (-135), an Intermediate Clinical Supervisor‑License (-134), or a Clinical Supervisor In‑Training License (-133). Must possess a credential issued by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services in the form of a Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor credential (-132) or a Clinical Social Worker License (-123), Marriage and Family Therapist License (-124), Marriage and Family Therapist Training License (-228), Professional Counselor License (-125), or Professional Counselor Training License (-226). Have at least 2 years of experience delivering Substance Use Disorder Treatment or have at least 2 years of experience providing supervision to Substance Use Disorder Treatment Providers. Must be willing and able to obtain a Clinical Supervisor In‑Training License within 6 months of hire. Any employee hired with a Professional Counselor Training License or Marriage and Family Therapist Training License will need to have completed enough supervised clinical hours prior to appointment that they will be able to obtain their non‑training Professional Counselor License or Marriage and Family Therapist License within the first six months after appointment, as the full credential is required to apply for the Clinical Supervisor In‑Training License. A Clinical Supervisor In‑Training License may only be renewed twice and this position will be required to maintain a clinical supervisor credential.
