Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a full-float position across multiple campuses, requiring a CA RN license and 4 years of ICU experience.

Details

• Full float position across three campuses, with travelers notified 2 hours prior to shift regarding reporting location
• Shuttle transport is available between campuses, which are approximately 15 minutes apart
• Rotating 3x12 hour day/night shifts (0700-1930 / 1900-0730)
• Weekend rotation required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required as needed across campuses

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 4 years of ICU experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• Experience with critical care skills including IV therapy, arterial line management, central/PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Ventilator management and respiratory care experience, including BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with CRRT/CVVHD and renal failure management
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and administering continuous IV sedation or paralytics
• Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and multisystem organ dysfunction care
• Neurological care experience including CVA/stroke management, EVD, ICP monitoring, and traumatic brain injury care
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and phlebotomy
• Preferred cardiovascular experience with CABG, ECMO, Impella, IABP, TAVR, valve repair/replacement, and VAD management
• Preferred experience with FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring and hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing across ICU, Neuro ICU, and Surgical ICU settings as needed
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius to qualify for the local rate
• Local candidates are accepted at the local rate
• Returning staff must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible to return as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday allowed to be requested per contract
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day, each observed from 7:00 PM the night before through 7:00 AM the day after
• Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
