Project EngineerThe Project Engineer tracks and maintains records that are associated with costs, deliveries and payroll at the job site. The Project Engineer is also responsible for tracking and maintaining all safety communications, manuals and records.Responsibilities:Safety:Prepare and give weekly Tool Box Talks, Daily Safety Huddles and maintain records.Maintain a file for One Call Center requests to ensure no utilities are damaged during construction activities.Maintain a retrievable filing system for the Hazardous Communication Program - MSDS.Maintain the Project Safety Manual, make periodic jobsite safety inspections and record/file all findingsPerform weekly jobsite safety inspections and communicate findings with team members.Payments:Perform daily Quantity Review with Superintendent and Job Foreman.Enter daily quantities into system and file daily sheets.Track completion of work on project plans.Perform monthly review of estimates with job Superintendent.Maintain a file for tracking all extra work.Notify Project Manager or Area Manager of anticipated overruns/under runs.Request a copy of Final Estimate with each monthly estimate and send to Area Manager – State DOT projects only.Daily Logs:Maintain General correspondence file with correspondence log.Maintain Shop Drawing Log.Maintain Subcontractor daily log.Maintain Delivery logAccurately track Asphalt and other major materials that are delivered verses the quantity paid for.Certified Payroll, EEO, Trainee Reports:Enter daily payroll information by specific task and assist in productivity tracking.Track all subcontractors that worked on the project for the month utilizing the Subcontractor daily log.Submit copies of the Sub Log to Payroll monthly and notifying Area Managers of delays.Miscellaneous:Maintain Job RecordsTrack Job Codes using Phase Code SystemMaintain the Request for Information (RFI) to the ownerAssist in purchase of job materials to ensure the proper quantities are deliveredReview project plans and assist in ensuring work is completed properlyAssist with developing project look-ahead schedulesQualifications:Qualifications:B.S. Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with 2+ years of related experienceExperience in Heavy Construction (site-work, roads or environmental)Must be capable of meeting deadlines, self-motivated, detail oriented; have above average interpersonal skills and have excellent follow-through capabilityVerbal and written communication skills are essential to this positionAbility to performed effectively in a fast paced environment; able to accurately process written documents, perform duties in a timely manner, be highly organized and able to interface; communicate effectively with company, clients and field personnel at all levels.Reports to: Regional DirectorLocation: Raymondville, TXComprehensive benefits offered to eligible employees including medical, dental, and vision coverage; life insurance; FSA; short- and long-term disability; identity theft protection; 401(k); employee assistance program; and paid time off.
