The Clinical Lab Scientist III (CLS III) will hold a more advanced role with technical oversite responsibilities. The CLS III will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and accurate operation of the laboratory, contributing to high-quality patient care through their advanced skills and leadership.ResponsibilitiesPerform a wide variety of laboratory procedures requiring independent judgment using both manual and automated methods in Hematology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Microbiology, Immunology, and any other discipline as introduced into the laboratoryInterpret lab test results and identify any abnormalities, ensure the accuracy and reliability of these results to assist doctors in making informed decisions about patient careExecute and oversee complex laboratory tests on blood, tissues, and other bodily fluids, this may include both routine and specialized tests, that require a higher level of expertiseMentor junior laboratory staff and technicians, provide guidance, and ensure adherence to protocols and standards, you may also be responsible for training new employeesReview quality control performance, ensure documentation of corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specificationsImplement and monitor quality control procedures to maintain high standards in laboratory testing, you may also calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipmentKeep accurate and detailed records of all laboratory tests performed and their results, input data into our laboratory information systemsEnsure all laboratory operations comply with hospital policies, governmental regulations, and accreditation requirementsQualificationsASCP certification, or equivalentMinimum five years of hospital laboratory work experienceBachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological science, or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, or other educational requirements as stated in CLIA (42 CFR 493.1489)Current and valid state license if the laboratory is located in a state where requiredHere are some of the benefits of working at Prime Healthcare:Health, dental, and vision insurance optionsPaid vacation, sick time and holidaysBereavement leave, FMLA and other leave optionsEmployer 401K optionsTuition reimbursement options Life, disability, and other insurance optionsMany other amazing benefitsFull benefits at Prime Healthcare: #LI-JJ3Employment StatusFull TimeShiftDaysEqual Employment OpportunityCompany is an equal employment opportunity employer.
