ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT

Currently seeking an Accounting Assistant with General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Sales Tax, and general accounting experience to join our team. The candidate will assist the Accounting Manager in various departmental functions. This position will participate in month-end close, credit evaluations for accounts, sales tax reporting and analysis, purchase orders, and shipping quotes for customer orders. They will also have substantial exposure to foreign operations and costing of products.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Assist in General Ledger close and month-end reporting procedures

· Organize credit requests and information from new customers for management review

· Research credit, sales, and payment history of existing customers to assist in evaluating credit limits

· Document information and notes related to credit evaluations and decisions

· Issue purchase orders for the manufacture of equipment

· Communicate with the Sales group on customer account status

· Sales and Use Tax calculation and submissions

· Enter Resale Certificates into Sales Tax software

· Research sales tax questions/issues as they pertain to different states and jurisdictions

· Review daily invoicing and commit to Sales Tax software for payment

· Journal entries and support documentation for Sales Tax activities

· Build files for costing of products

· Track revenues on products sales and shipping rates

· Request shipping/freight quotes from various domestic and international carriers

· Special projects as assigned
