End Client: State of South Carolina - DOA Job Title: Cisco Network Engineer Location: Blythewood, SC (29016) Duration: 12+ Months Position Type: Contract Interview Mode: Webcam Overview The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles is seeking an experienced Cisco Network Engineer to serve as a key technical resource for the Network Operations Center (NOC). The role will support complex network issues, make recommendations, and implement changes with minimal supervision, while upholding SCDMV standards and strengthening daily NOC operations. Daily Duties Manage, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot the statewide network infrastructure comprising Cisco/Meraki, Palo Alto, Fortinet/FortiGate, Certes, Citrix NetScaler, and Trellix solutions. Monitor network performance, ensure efficient communication, review security compliance, and apply updates to keep the network secure and optimal. Work collaboratively in a multi‑team environment, handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast‑paced setting, and conduct knowledge transfer and informal training to peers as needed. Responsibilities Perform configuration, installation, maintenance, and upgrades of networking products. Troubleshoot network failures and identify root causes. Design, install, and configure network infrastructure and provide support. Maintain network diagrams and other network documentation. Provide configuration, troubleshooting, and problem‑resolution support. Troubleshoot and remediate issues in a complex, voice‑integrated infrastructure. Required Skills (Ranked in Order of Importance) 10+ years of experience with Cisco firewalls. 10+ years of experience with Cisco routers. 10+ years of experience with Cisco switches. 10+ years of experience with Cisco VPN. 10+ years of experience with Cisco administration. 5+ years of experience with Palo Alto firewalls. Preferred Skills 10+ years of experience with monitoring and tracing tools. 10+ years of experience in core network architecture. 10+ years of experience with advanced troubleshooting, routing, and switching. 4+ years of experience with wireless networks. 3+ years of experience with hybrid cloud infrastructure.
