Roadway Group Manager - Tampa

Job Description

ELEMENT Engineering Group is seeking an experienced Roadway Group Manager to lead our Roadway Design Team. This individual will be responsible for technical leadership, operational performance, staff development, and continued group growth while maintaining the quality and client service our team is known for.

The Roadway Group Manager will lead the delivery of transportation projects, serve as a trusted resource to our clients, and work closely with company leadership on staffing, workload, business development, and strategic initiatives. This role is well suited for an experienced roadway professional who enjoys developing people, solving technical challenges, building client relationships, and having a meaningful role in the direction of the business.

Roles and Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Lead the Tampa Roadway Design Team while providing technical guidance, managing workload, staffing, and resources
\n
• Serve as Lead Technical Engineer and/or Engineer of Record for roadway design projects
\n
• Oversee project delivery with a focus on quality, schedule, budget, and client expectations
\n
• Monitor backlog, utilization, project performance, and staffing needs to support sustainable growth
\n
• Collaborate across offices and technical disciplines to balance workload and effectively use company resources
\n
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients
\n
• Lead and support marketing pursuits, proposal development, pursuit strategy, and client interviews
\n
• Identify opportunities for repeat business and expansion of ELEMENT's transportation services
\n
• Participate in strategic Go/No-Go and pursuit decisions
\n
• Represent ELEMENT at client meetings, industry events, conferences, and professional organizations
\n

Minimum Requirements

\n

\n
• Professional Engineer (PE) registered in the State of Florida
\n
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive roadway design experience
\n
• Experience leading roadway design teams and supervising engineering staff
\n
• Experience serving as Engineer of Record for FDOT transportation projects
\n
• Strong knowledge of the FDOT Design Manual (FDM), Standard Plans, Specifications, and applicable AASHTO design criteria
\n
• Strong working knowledge of OpenRoads Designer (ORD), MicroStation, and related roadway design software
\n
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
\n
• Excellent technical, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
\n

• Experience managing project budgets, schedules, utilization, backlog, and financial performance

• Experience recruiting, hiring, mentoring, and developing engineering professionals
