Job Details The Indirect Commodity Manager leads strategic sourcing, supplier management, and commercial contracting activities across key indirect spend categories, including Engineering Services, Contingent Workforce, Outsourcing, Managed Services, IT, Facilities, HR, Professional Services, Marketing, and Corporate Services. This role partners closely with business stakeholders to deliver cost-effective, compliant, and scalable solutions while driving supplier performance, risk mitigation, operational efficiency, and business value. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and be able to balance strategic initiatives, tactical execution, and project management responsibilities. This individual will help build and mature procurement processes, policies, governance, and stakeholder communication frameworks while supporting Altera's continued organizational growth and transformation. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute category, sourcing, and supplier strategies aligned with business objectives, budget targets, and risk management requirements. Lead end-to-end sourcing activities, including requirements gathering, market/spend analysis, RFx events, supplier evaluations, negotiations, and contract execution. Negotiate and manage complex commercial agreements, including MSAs, SOWs, outsourcing agreements, contingent workforce contracts, software agreements, and professional services engagements. Partner with ,HR, Finance, Legal, IT, Information Security, Facilities, Engineering and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver cost-effective, compliant procurement solutions. Develop sourcing strategies for contingent workforce, managed services, and outsourcing engagements, including supplier selection, rate benchmarking, workforce optimization, governance, and compliance. Own strategic supplier relationships and performance management for key suppliers, including Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), executive-level supplier engagement, performance scorecards, innovation discussions, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives. Drive supplier accountability through governance frameworks, service-level monitoring, issue resolution, and strategic roadmap alignment. Identify and deliver cost savings, cost avoidance, supplier consolidation, and value creation opportunities across assigned categories. Monitor supplier performance, financial health, market trends, labor market dynamics, and commercial risks to proactively identify opportunities and mitigation plans. Develop and enhance procurement policies, procedures, templates, and controls to improve efficiency, compliance, audit readiness, and stakeholder experience. Support organizational stand-up activities, procurement transformation initiatives, contract lifecycle management, supplier governance, and process standardization efforts. Lead and manage procurement-related projects while driving stakeholder communications, change management, and cross-functional alignment. Operate effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment, balancing strategic sourcing, commercial contracting, tactical execution, project management, process development, and stakeholder communications to support the continued growth and maturation of Altera's Procurement organization. Collaborate with Finance and business stakeholders on budgeting, forecasting, supplier investments, affordability initiatives, and cost reduction roadmaps. Support sustainability, supplier diversity, regulatory compliance, and responsible sourcing initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Operations, Engineering, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred. 8+ years of progressive procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, vendor management, or category management experience, with significant experience managing indirect spend categories. Proven experience developing and executing sourcing strategies across one or more indirect categories, including Engineering Services, Contingent Workforce, Managed Services, Outsourcing, IT, Professional Services, Facilities, Marketing, HR, and Corporate Services. Strong expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, contract management, and commercial deal structuring. Demonstrated experience negotiating complex agreements, including Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), software licensing agreements, professional services contracts, outsourcing agreements, and contingent workforce contracts. Experience managing contingent workforce programs, managed service providers (MSPs), staffing suppliers, and outsourced service providers. Strong financial and analytical skills with the ability to conduct spend analysis, cost modeling, supplier benchmarking, business case development, and total cost of ownership (TCO) evaluations. Proven ability to identify and deliver measurable cost savings, cost avoidance, supplier consolidation, process improvements, and value creation initiatives. Experience leading supplier performance management programs, including supplier scorecards, Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), governance frameworks, and executive-level supplier engagement. Strong understanding of procurement risk management, supplier financial analysis, regulatory compliance, contract controls, and audit requirements. Ability to effectively partner with stakeholders across Finance, Legal, HR, IT, Information Security, Engineering, Facilities, and Executive Leadership teams. Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Excellent negotiation, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decisions across all organizational levels. Experience supporting procurement transformation, process improvement, procurement policy development, governance programs, and organizational scaling initiatives. Strong business acumen and ability to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on execution. Self-starter with a proactive, results-oriented mindset and the ability to navigate ambiguity and changing business priorities. Experience working within technology, semiconductor, manufacturing, or other fast-paced global organizations is strongly preferred. Proficiency with procurement and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Coupa, Ariba, Workday, or similar platforms. Familiarity with supplier diversity, sustainability, responsible sourcing, and ESG-related procurement initiatives. Professional certifications such as CPSM, CIPS, CSCP, PMP, or equivalent are a plus. Preferred Experience Experience building or maturing procurement functions within a high-growth, newly independent, or transforming organization. Experience leading strategic sourcing initiatives supporting global operations and geographically dispersed stakeholders. Experience implementing supplier governance frameworks, contract lifecycle management tools, and procurement process automation solutions. Knowledge of labor market dynamics, contingent workforce compliance, and outsourcing governance best practices.
