About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Product Officer for its Japanese joint venture. The successful candidate will work closely with the CEO to provide strategic direction and leadership, make key decisions, and oversee daily operations. As the lead for product, the Chief Product Officer will be responsible for setting and executing product direction and strategy, acting as the primary interface with the product and engineering team, and leading product marketing and pre-sales activities. This role requires a strong leader with a background in enterprise technology, particularly SaaS products and platforms, and a deep understanding of the energy industry and its transition. The ideal candidate will have a commercial, entrepreneurial mindset, and the ability to drive outcomes, as well as high emotional intelligence and the ability to work through differing opinions. Candidates for the Chief Product Officer position should have a proven track record of working across teams and cultures, with a strong interest in and respect for Japanese culture. The ability to speak Japanese is a major plus. The role demands a team player with a start-up mentality, capable of self-organization, and a commitment to the company's values of inclusivity, collaboration, and purposeful communication. The Chief Product Officer will be expected to have a high degree of initiative, be adept at negotiations and contracting, and be able to see both the long and short term in strategic planning. A background in the energy sector, particularly in sales, and experience in a corporate-backed start-up environment, are also highly valued.
