Head Global Neuroimmunology Pipeline, Medical Affairs (Senior Scientific Director / Executive Medical Director)

AbbVie seeks a senior scientific leader to direct medical affairs strategy for the neuroimmunology pipeline portfolio. The role combines scientific oversight of clinical development, healthcare provider engagement, evidence generation, and cross-functional collaboration to support product launches and market access.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee medical affairs activities, data generation, and dissemination for assigned indications and projects
- Guide development of Target Product Profiles and Phase 3b/4 strategies; contribute to trial design
- Plan and execute advisory boards, scientific education programs, and stakeholder engagement initiatives
- Manage cross-functional teams on discrete projects including data analysis, publications, and expert engagement
- Ensure scientific initiatives meet budget, timeline, and compliance requirements; manage direct reports
Requirements
- Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, or DVM); post-doctoral or residency experience preferred
- 10+ years clinical trial or medical affairs experience for Senior Director role; 5+ years for Executive Medical Director (MD required)
- Expertise in neuroimmunology with ability to provide scientific strategy and support
- Proven ability to independently lead clinical studies and medical affairs teams
- Knowledge of clinical trial methodology, regulatory requirements, and protocol design
- Strong leadership and cross-functional team management skills in global environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
