Phlebotomist (Part-Time | Overnight)

Simple Laboratories is looking for an experienced Part-Time on-site Phlebotomist for our Chicago south side hospital location. The ideal candidate is phlebotomy certified, MA or nurse, and enjoys working in a dynamic and collaborative environment, and demonstrates optimal patient care. Work Schedule: 10:30 PM - 7:00 AM with rotating weekends. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Ensure identification of patients and their personal information using their ID, documents, or other means. Determine the right venipuncture method based on patients' age. Reassure patients and help them relax. Find veins that are suitable for venipuncture. Draw blood using sterilized needles, vials, and other equipment. Ensure optimal quality and quantity of samples. Label samples correctly, process, package for courier delivery to the lab. Answer patient questions and provide useful information. Keep accurate records on fluid specimens and tests. Adhere to all relevant health and safety standards while working. Minimum Qualifications (knowledge, skills, and abilities) Three (3) years phlebotomy Certified Phlebotomy Certificate Preferred or MA High School or equivalent Ability to communicate effectively Must follow dress code; scrubs while performing phlebotomy or similar covering. Ability to demonstrate patience and compassion.
