The ideal candidate will combine their mechanical engineering expertise with advanced technical skills to support multidisciplinary projects in the aerospace and defense industry. This role requires a detail-oriented engineer who can manage software tools, ensure compliance with licensing agreements, and contribute to the development and deployment of engineering solutions.What You Will Do:Coding & AutomationDevelop and maintain custom scripts and tools to automate repetitive tasks related to mechanical engineering workflows.Utilize programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or similar to enhance efficiency in data analysis and simulation.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software solutions with existing engineering systems.Software Deployment & MaintenanceLead the installation, configuration, and deployment of software tools used for mechanical engineering analysis, modeling, and simulation.Troubleshoot software issues and provide technical support to engineering teams.Ensure timely updates and patches are applied to software to maintain functionality and security.Software License ManagementManage and track software licenses used within the engineering team, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements.Collaborate with procurement, IT, and engineering teams to assess software needs and maintain an optimized suite of tools.Maintain a centralized inventory of software licenses, user access, and renewal schedules.Qualifications You Must Have:Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related fieldTechnical Support and Admin experience with Windows and/or Linux EnvironmentsProgramming experience with Python, MATLAB, or equivalent languages.U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.Qualifications We Prefer:Experience in the aerospace or defense industry.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.Experience working in development teams using Agile concepts and methodologies.Experience in a mechanical engineering role with demonstrated expertise in software license management.Familiarity with software licensing models and agreements.Proficiency in software deployment and troubleshooting for engineering tools (e.g., CAD, FEA, CFD applications).Familiarity with DevOps practices or version control systems (e.g., Git).The ability to obtain a US Secret Clearance may be required in the future after your start date.What We OfferOur values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world.
