Clinical Assistant Professor

The University of Miami Health System, Miller School of Medicine is initiating a search for a Hepatologist at the Assistant/Associate Professor of Medicine level. *ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: * * Provide direct outpatient care to Hepatology patients primarily at the University of Miami Hospital and Clinics * Perform routine endoscopic services on Hepatology patients * Provide inpatient care, on a rotating basis on a APP run Hepatology Service * Participate in on call rotation * There are opportunities to initiate and participate in clinical research studies * Teaching of residents and fellows *DESIRED QUALIFIATIONS: * * MD/DO Degree * ACGME US Internal Medicine residency * BE/BC in Internal Medicine * BE/BC in Gastroenterology * BE/BC in Transplant Hepatology encouraged * Valid unrestricted Florida Medical License or eligible to apply (must have license prior to credentialing) * Must be able to provide prerequisite case logs for procedures for prior two years for credentialing * Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures and techniques * Must maintain CME to meet institutional and state licensing requirements * Must have excellent clinical knowledge and experience to provide safe and quality care to patients and meet institutional standards of care * Current BLS certification required.
