About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee the daily operations of its independent, self-governing non-profit district hospital. The COO will be tasked with aligning healthcare delivery to the community-focused mission of the hospital, managing resource constraints, and ensuring compliance with public funding regulations. Key responsibilities for the COO include participating in the development and execution of strategic and operational plans, supervising and improving hospital departments and services, and working with the hospital leadership team to implement clinical and support services that meet the hospital's core metrics. The successful candidate will also be responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance, developing new business strategies, and serving as a liaison between various hospital stakeholders. Candidates for the COO position at the company must have a Master’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a closely related executive field, and at least 7 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a stand-alone facility or an autonomous, decentralized division. The role requires a professional with high emotional intelligence for local community engagement, the ability to build operational infrastructures, and a comprehensive knowledge of non-profit hospital governance, independent revenue cycles, and local health district dynamics. The COO will be expected to prepare and administer budgets, direct and oversee various projects, and stay informed of current trends in medical administration to ensure the effective utilization of technology and to improve systems and processes within the hospital.
