Job Description:
We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment in the Operating Room/Surgery department. The primary location is PMC, but the nurse must be willing to float to the Main Campus OR as staffing needs require. This is a day shift position from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, scheduled as 4 days a week (10-hour shifts). The position is available ASAP.


Qualifications:

• Current New Mexico RN license or a valid Compact state license
• BLS Certification via AHA is required
• ACLS Certification via AHA is required
• No weekend requirement; volunteers can pick up call at Main Campus
• No on-call required; however, staff may need to stay if cases run past scheduled hours
• Willingness to float between PMC and Main Campus as needed

Responsibilities:

• Provide independent nursing care, including both routine and complex procedures, in the operating room setting
• Administer medications and treatments according to protocols, monitor for side effects and effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care activities accurately
• Assess learning needs and educate patients, families, and caregivers
• Collaborate with team members, make appropriate assignments, and delegate tasks as necessary
• Demonstrate leadership qualities aligned with applicable competencies

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a relevant nursing specialty preferred
• Valid RN license in state of employment or a compact license
• BLS certification required

Work Schedule: 4 days per week, 10 hours per day
