The clinical teams at the area's clinics are improving outcomes, lowering the number of hospital readmissions and reducing avoidable costs associated with treating chronic conditions. UnityPoint Health - Cedar Rapids serves a seven-county area surrounding Cedar Rapids. • Urgent Care Clinics are open 8am-8pm Monday - Friday; 8am-3pm Saturday and Sunday
• Schedule full time and flexible; average 14-15 shifts per month
• Rotating weekend shifts
• 2 Providers per shift
• No call requirements
• Full-time position, including dedicated administrative time, with flexible scheduling to ensure sufficient patient access
• 24/7 hospitalist program is responsible for adult and pediatric inpatients
• Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC EMR to improve care coordination
• Epic integration with an option for patient's to "reserve your spot" online

Responsibilities

• Average of 5-6 patients per hour
• Provide medical treatment for minor illnesses and injuries
• Excellent assessment skills
• Work in a fast-paced environment
• Provide high quality care to all ages
• Offers select diagnostic tests and lab tests
• Prescribe treatment, refer patients for follow up care, and educate patients
• Evaluates, interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
• Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Family Medicine and/or Emergency Medicine
• Preferred American board of Urgent Care medicine certification
• Ability to care for all ages
• Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa
• Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physician's field of practice
• Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt)
