Peer Program Assistant

Part-time position – 24 hours per week – Catonsville, MD, US. Responsibilities Expected to work on site during core open hours, including pre- and post‑hours. Perform orientation for new members. Open, close, and facilitate daily operations of the center (cleaning, dishwashing, wiping tables, snack prep, sign‑in sheets, recycling, organizing papers and books, etc.). Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. Enter new member data and attendance records. Create correspondences, such as requests for donations. Track and replenish program supplies. Operate 4‑line telephone system (warm line) to answer incoming calls to the center per departmental protocols. Monitor member usage of the telephone system. Retrieve voice mail messages, return calls, log them, and forward to the Director. Welcome on‑site visitors and members and direct them to appropriate personnel or department. Provide potential members with information packets (e.g., SSWRC application, calendar, brochure, flyers). Track visitor data, including new membership applications. Track monthly, quarterly, and annual data of new visitors, visitor‑to‑member ratio, non‑duplicated counts of individuals served in person and possibly by phone, and other required data. Perform other clerical duties as needed (filing, photocopying, collating, petty cash, flyers, calendars). Create flyers for events in MS Word and other programs if available. Facilitate support group membership meetings and activities. Coordinate with Director in scheduling activities and developing new groups. Drive other members to nearby events. Check work e‑mail according to agency protocol. Participate in and complete all required trainings. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Must become WRAP certified and NAMI Connection Support Group Facilitator certified within 6 months of employment. High School Diploma, GED, or one to three months of related experience/training or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Peer Recovery Specialist Certification (CPRS) or willingness to obtain certification within 1 year of employment (Santé will pay for certification if not already earned). At least 2 years in full recovery and 3 years of lived experience with mental illness, substance abuse, or a co‑occurring disorder. Must have access to a vehicle for business purposes and possess a valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and no more than two points on the driving record.
