Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant Our client, a private higher-education institution, is seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to support their growing accounting function. Location: This is a hybrid role, with four days per week on-site in Moraga, CA. Responsibilities: Perform detailed account reconciliations and analyze financial data, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies. Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant accounting standards, including ASC 606 and ASC 842. Support month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing reconciliations, journal entries, and related documentation. Prepare audit schedules, respond to auditor inquiries, and support the coordination of annual external audits. Identify and recommend process improvements for balance sheet reconciliations and related accounting workflows. Assist with ad hoc projects and additional duties as needed. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field. CPA or CPA-eligible (150 units). Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, including public accounting. Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles. Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.
