Every asset the Creative Design team produces starts with a brief that specifies the persona, hook rationale, format, platform context, CTA, and the performance hypothesis being tested. The Creative Strategist is the person who writes those briefs and owns the full upstream strategy behind them.You determine what gets made, who it's for, and why it should win, and you communicate it with enough precision that nothing is lost between strategy and execution. LP operates a centralized hub-and-spoke creative model: this role feeds the hub with concepts and performance intelligence while media buyers test at speed across verticals. Your job is to make sure everything entering that hub is grounded in real audience understanding, not intuition alone.What You'll Bring5+ years experience with direct response creative strategy ownership and performance media buyingYou know what a strong hook looks like, why persona targeting matters, and what makes someone stop scrollingDemonstrated experience writing production-ready briefs that creative teams execute without revision roundsPerformance data fluency: you can read results, identify what's driving them, and translate findings into creative directionExperience managing UGC creators from sourcing through deliveryAbility to work across multiple verticals and formats simultaneously without losing strategic focusStrong copywriting ability (scripts, hooks, headlines, ad copy) meaningfully accelerates the briefing process and is a differentiator for this roleExperience leveraging AI tools like Claude or AI Asset Production tools to drive creative strategy fartherWhat You'll OwnBrief Writing and Concept DevelopmentOwn the end-to-end briefing process for all creative entering production: static, short-form video, long-form DR, display, YouTube, and emerging formatsMaintain a rolling content backlog with 4+ weeks of net-new concepts brief-ready at all timesHit monthly throughput targets for net-new concepts across LP's full vertical portfolioOwn the net-new vs. iteration balance: enough new concepts to maximize testing cadence, enough iteration direction to fully exploit proven winnersProactively identify untested formats and underserved verticals and bring them into the testing queuePerformance Intelligence and PlaybookAnalyze creative performance data with the paid media team to identify winners, flag fatigue, and determine what to test nextTranslate performance findings into new briefs and updated creative direction, not just observationsMaintain LP's creative playbook: document winning formulas by persona, vertical, and format so every team starts from accumulated learning, not from zeroLead competitive creative research on a regular cadence: study what formats, hooks, and approaches are winning in LP's verticals and flag emerging opportunities before they're mainstreamDrive cross-vertical learning: when something wins in one vertical, identify where it can be adapted and brief it for othersUGC Creator and Talent ManagementOwn LP's UGC creator pipeline end-to-end: sourcing, vetting, contracting, briefing, and performance reviewMaintain the Airtable UGC creator dashboard as the single source of truth: creator profiles, availability, past performance, brief status, and video review statusWrite creator briefs specific enough to reduce revision cycles and increase the odds of a usable first deliveryBuild and manage creator relationships across LP's full vertical portfolio, not just the highest-volume categoriesTraits of SuccessPrecise communicator: nothing gets lost between strategy and executionTranslates data into action, not just observationSystems thinker who builds playbooks and infrastructure that compound over timeManages multiple verticals and formats simultaneously without losing strategic focusCreative intuition grounded in performance logic, not personal tasteWho Won't Succeed HereRelies on gut over data to generate creative directionWrites briefs that require rounds of revision before production can moveCan't independently manage creator relationships from sourcing through deliveryThinks in one brand or format rather than the full portfolioTreats performance analysis as a reporting exercise rather than a creative inputTotal compensation is set according to market rates for the nearest major metro and varies based on Launch Potato's Levels Framework. Your compensation package includes a base salary, profit-sharing bonus, and competitive benefits.
