Shipping Office Assistant

Position Overview Sofidel America of Duluth, MN is currently seeking a Shipping-Office Assistant (SOA). We are searching for a dynamic candidate that is local to the area and is looking for a long term role in a stable environment. Your expertise will make you an important part of our team! This role is a day shift Monday - Friday position. The starting pay rate is $22-$23 / hour depending on experience. As an SOA you will be responsible for processing outbound delivery paperwork from the warehouse, and verifying shipping information is scanned and filed in the system, while complying with instructions and prescribed routines, methods or procedures and involving minor decision making. Job Responsibilities Check in drivers -this includes verifying their info and the order they are picking up, adding them to our log book, and then assigning them a door. Data entry- When trucks are done being loaded you will enter the appropriate data into SAP and bill the order out. Once the order is billed out you will put completed paperwork in the trailer. Communicate with Transportation Office Assistant (TOA) with carrier estimated times of arrival. Prepare shipping labels for all small package shipments. Communicate with other departments outside of transportation for deliveries. Other responsibilities include monitoring and replying to emails in a timely manner, scanning and filing paperwork, printing orders for the next day, and communicating issues to the appropriate department / or supervisor. Job Requirements High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree a plus Minimum 3 years Proven experience as shipping and receiving admin/clerk or similar position Knowledge of HACCP and OSHA standards Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus Knowledge in SAP and MS Office Excellent organizational skills Great communication and interpersonal abilities Company Benefits Competitive Salary Medical Benefits Time Off Retention Bonus 401K Career Advancement Opportunities WORK ENVIRONMENT Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required when in the plant and warehouse areas. PPE will include safety shoes, eye and ear protection, reflective vests and hairnets or hats along with any other necessary protection. Temperatures in the plant/warehouse can range a great deal from season to season.
