Mortgage Loan Processor

Overview Insight Global is seeking a Mortgage Processor to support the end-to-end mortgage and equity loan process for one of our local credit union clients in the Richmond area. This individual will serve as a key point of contact throughout the loan lifecycle, ensuring accurate documentation, timely processing, and an exceptional member experience. The ideal candidate has experience processing mortgage and/or home equity loans, calculating income, managing a loan pipeline, and partnering with internal teams and external vendors to facilitate successful closings. This is a 6-month contract engagement to start (potential for extensions and/or conversion depending on performance) and can provide a starting hourly rate between $20-$25/hr depending on previous experience. Responsibilities Process residential mortgage and home equity loan applications from approval through closing. Serve as the primary point of contact for members throughout the loan process. Review loan files for completeness and accuracy, ensuring all required documentation is received. Calculate and verify borrower income, employment, assets, and other qualifying information. Coordinate with title companies, attorneys, appraisers, and other third-party vendors to obtain required documentation. Request, review, and clear loan conditions in preparation for closing. Schedule closings and ensure all closing requirements have been satisfied. Partner with loan officers, underwriters, closers, and other mortgage associates to move loans efficiently through the pipeline. Maintain accurate loan status updates and provide timely communication to members and internal stakeholders. Manage a high-volume pipeline while meeting service level agreements and closing deadlines. Ensure compliance with applicable lending regulations, investor requirements, and internal policies. Required Qualifications 1-2+ years of mortgage processing, home equity processing, or related mortgage lending experience. Experience calculating borrower income, including self-employed and variable income scenarios. Strong understanding of the residential mortgage and/or home equity loan process. Experience managing an active loan pipeline and prioritizing multiple files simultaneously. Experience reviewing income, asset, employment, title, and appraisal documentation. Strong customer service and member-facing communication skills. High attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications Credit union or banking experience. Experience working with mortgage loan origination systems (LOS). Knowledge of TRID, RESPA, and other mortgage lending regulations.
