Stamford, CT $88,514 - $115,328 a year
Profession: Radiology
Job Type: Full Time
Bring Clarity to Care in a Coastal Community of Compassion and Character
Each day, thousands of people rely on the gentle precision of a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to bring clarity to their care journey. This isn't just a position in ultrasound — it's a calling for those who find meaning in the moments between heartbeats, who can turn anxiety into assurance through their steady hands and calm presence. We are looking for a dedicated professional who sees beyond the image, someone whose curiosity, compassion, and technical excellence create an experience that is just as human as it is clinical.
This is a full-time opportunity with day-shift hours in an advanced imaging department equipped with state-of-the-art technology and supported by a collaborative, patient-centered team. As part of this role, you'll not only shape the diagnosis but also the experience — turning cold scans into warm, meaningful interactions.
Responsibilities Include:
- Perform high-quality ultrasound exams that adhere to both routine imaging protocols and custom physician directives
- Clearly position patients for optimal results while ensuring comfort and safety throughout the procedure
- Maintain detailed imaging records, document findings, and manage the technical systems (RIS/PACS) that support workflow
- Collaborate closely with radiologists and other care team members to ensure timely and accurate interpretations
- Support the department's learning culture through mentorship, professional development, and patient education
- Demonstrate high standards of professionalism, communication, and service excellence in every patient and team interaction
Education Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited CAAHEP Diagnostic Sonography program
- Associate's Degree (preferred) or equivalent completion of a bachelor's program with one year of full-time diagnostic medical sonography instruction
Certifications:
- ARDMS certification in at least one modality
- RDMS in Abdomen required within one year of hire (OB/GYN highly desirable)
- CPR certification preferred
Skills We Value:
- Proficiency in routine ultrasound techniques and comfort using advanced PACS systems
- Clear, confident communication skills with both patients and peers
- Excellent organization and adaptability in a fast-paced care setting
- The ability to lift and transfer patients and operate portable ultrasound equipment
What You'll Receive:
- Competitive compensation plus up to $20,000 in sign-on incentives
- Full suite of health, dental, and vision benefits
- Generous paid time off and holiday schedules
- Tuition reimbursement and continuing education opportunities
- A stable, full-time schedule with meaningful patient engagement
- A work culture centered on inclusion, compassion, and professional growth
Where Compassion Meets Coastal Charm
Some places live quietly in the background — others wrap themselves around you, like a breeze off the Sound or the rustling hush of old-growth trees lining neighborhood trails. Along the southern coast of New England lies a gem of a community, shaped as much by its shoreline beauty as by the people who call it home. Here, in a region known for its sophisticated calm and small-town elegance, you'll discover the rare balance of career ambition and personal wellbeing.
This is a place where mornings begin with mist over sailboats in the harbor, and where lunch breaks can mean a walk to a local French bakery or an hour with your feet in the sand. The pace is considered — never rushed — and the people take pride in their health, their neighborhoods, and the sense of heritage that comes from centuries of maritime tradition.
Families here grow up on tree-lined streets with stone walls, summer parades, and fourth-generation delis where the regulars know each other by name. The public schools are nationally recognized, and the parks stretch out like someone once painted a postcard and brought it to life. Trails run alongside streams and through preserves, ideal for after-work decompression or weekend hikes with friends and dogs in tow.
Just a short train ride away, you'll find yourself in the heart of Manhattan — close enough for a Broadway evening, far enough to keep life personal and grounded. That means the best of both worlds: world-class opportunity without sacrificing community or peace of mind.
And when autumn rolls in, the colors here are no longer a rumor — they explode into golds and ambers that wrap around your drive to work or your Saturday visit to the farmers market. Winter brings snowy town greens and cozy evenings. Spring is a bloom of dogwoods and crocuses. And summer? Summer smells like saltwater and grilled corn and lives on long after the season ends.
Why This Team Feels Like Home
What makes this opportunity exceptional isn't just the quality of care — it's the people who deliver it. The imaging department you'll be joining isn't just filled with experts; it's filled with advocates for patient dignity, for teamwork, and for showing up each day with energy and empathy. From the lead technologists to the front desk coordinators, there's a shared belief that how we care is just as important as what we do.
You'll have access to cutting-edge tools, continuing education support, and a strong partnership with radiologists and physicians. But more importantly, you'll find a team culture built on trust — where colleagues check in on each other, pitch in when things get busy, and celebrate every success, big or small.
We also understand that professionals have lives outside of scrubs. That's why we offer flexible schedules, support for career advancement, and resources to help you thrive — physically, emotionally, and financially. Whether you're just starting your journey in diagnostic imaging or bringing decades of experience, we believe in honoring your story and supporting your growth.
You Belong Here — Let's Begin
If you're a certified Diagnostic Medical Sonographer who's ready for more than just a role — if you're looking for a place where your talent is valued, your impact is visible, and your surroundings inspire you every day — we'd love to hear from you.
Come be part of a healthcare team where empathy leads, excellence follows, and the coast whispers, "you're home."
Apply today — and start imaging a future that's both rewarding and remarkable.
