Medical Records CoordinatorCommunity Medical Group is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and dependable Medical Records Coordinator to join our team.As a Medical Records Coordinator, you will play an essential role in supporting patient care by ensuring medical records are accurate, complete, and accessible when needed. This position is responsible for managing the intake, organization, retrieval, and maintenance of medical records while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and regulatory compliance. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced healthcare environment and have a passion for accuracy and organization, this is an excellent opportunity to join a mission-driven team.Eligible employees receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes:17 days of paid time off11 paid holidays and one floating holidayMedical, dental, and vision coverage through UnitedHealthcare401(k) retirement plan with company matchCompany-paid life insuranceOpportunities for professional growthKey responsibilities include:Processing incoming medical records, faxes, scanned documents, and correspondence within established turnaround timesUploading documents accurately into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system while ensuring proper patient identification and document classificationReviewing records for completeness, accuracy, duplicate status, and correct dates of service before finalizing uploadsCoordinating and managing medical record requests from internal departments, patients, and external healthcare providersObtaining and uploading external records from hospitals, specialists, imaging centers, and other healthcare facilitiesTracking and following up on outstanding record requests to ensure timely completion and resolutionAssisting in obtaining prior medical records for new patient appointmentsMaintaining detailed and auditable documentation of requests, follow-up activities, and record status updates within the EMRMonitoring referral and imaging-related documentation to support continuity of careEnsuring strict compliance with HIPAA regulations, patient privacy requirements, and company policiesMeeting departmental productivity, accuracy, and workflow standardsIdentifying opportunities for process improvement and workflow optimization within the medical records functionPerforming additional duties as assignedQualifications include:High school diploma or equivalent requiredPrevious experience in a medical records, healthcare, or clinical office environment preferredExperience working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and document management processesKnowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical record confidentiality requirementsStrong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectivelyExceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracyStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and follow established procedures consistentlyProficiency with Microsoft Office applications and computer-based systemsKnowledge of medical terminology preferredAbility to maintain professionalism and confidentiality when handling sensitive patient informationBilingual in English and Spanish or English and Creole preferred Community Medical Group
