Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 per year A bit about us: We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join a growing construction-focused organization in the Colorado Springs area. This role works closely with the CFO and Accounting team, handling core accounting functions while ensuring compliance with GAAP. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable working on-site in a fast-paced construction environment. Overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department. 2. Managing the preparation and review of all monthly financial reports, ensuring they comply with financial regulations and standards. 3. Analyzing and reporting on financial status including income statement variances, communicating financial results to management, budget preparation, and analysis. 4. Implementing and maintaining Work in Progress (WIP) schedules. 5. Ensuring the accurate and timely processing of positive pay transactions. 6. Managing the company's tax planning and compliance with all required federal, state, local, payroll, property, and other applicable taxes. 7. Managing construction accounting processes, including the recognition of revenue and cost at the project level. 8. Coordinating and completing annual audits. 9. Establishing and maintaining fiscal files and records to document transactions. 10. Continually improving processes and systems to increase the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting and data analysis. Qualifications: To be considered for this role, you should possess the following qualifications: 1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, preferably in the construction industry. 3. Proven experience in managing Work in Progress (WIP) schedules. 4. Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles and procedures. 5. Proficiency in creating and analyzing monthly financial reports. 6. Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software, and databases. 7. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills. 8. Ability to work closely with a senior management team. 9. CPA or CMA certification is preferred but not mandatory.
