Come be a part of our inspiring team and help create the future.As a Senior Underwriter, Property you will be responsible for delivering a profitable 'Underwriting' service to your clients. Your key tasks include:Underwriting business within the agreed business plan and individual authoritySupporting the business planning and forecasting processMonitoring financial exposure within outlined limitsMonitoring premium income to ensure it remains within set limitsMaintaining awareness of all claims advised while supporting and providing input on settlement of claimsEnsuring adequate reinsurance acquired to cover specific risksBuilding and maintaining relationships with brokers and clientsSupporting the design and structure of risksWhat will your essential responsibilities include?Underwrite and service a renewal book and produce new business in accordance with business unit goalsDevelop and manage underwriting strategies for both renewals and targets within your portfolio of accountsRepresent AXA XL in client meetings with senior Fortune 500 and broker senior executivesCalculate appropriate risk premium, exercise discretion and self-supported judgment in the analysis and evaluation of riskParticipate in roundtable discussions on risk assessmentNegotiate with producers within the limits of delegated authority and in accordance with established underwriting standards to achieve profit objectivesBuild and enhance relationships with brokers and clients and identify and establish new distribution relationshipsMaintain expertise with the products, services, priorities and target markets to more effectively enable clients to uncover hidden risksPromote the company's expertise by participating in industry conferences and events and conducting leadership roles in client and broker meetings to educate on riskMaintain compliance with all internal and external underwriting guidelines and legal requirementsSupport the business planning and forecasting process; monitor financial exposure within outlined limits; monitor premium income to ensure it remains within set limitsMaintain awareness of all claims advised while supporting and providing input on settlement of claimsIdentify and drive new product development opportunitiesEffectively cross-market with other AXA XL lines; meet with brokers and insureds as requiredCultivate key broker relationships in the region to maintain a steady stream of business within our underwriting appetiteWork collaboratively in a team environment, assisting underwriters, underwriting assistants and management teamYou will report to the Head of Property, Central ZoneWhat you will bring:Extensive underwriting experience of large multi-national accountsProperty insurance experience requiredBachelor's degree (or equivalent)Demonstrated technical knowledge and skills including product and industryDemonstrated ability to represent AXA XL with appropriate gravitas, professionalism and sound judgmentRobust analytical and problem solving skills as well as outstanding sales and marketing abilitiesRobust organizational, time-management and multi-tasking skills combined with an outstanding work ethicAbility to develop and understand business processes, strategy and planningAbility to work self-directedAbility to respond to a changing environment with flexibility and innovationRobust customer service and negotiation skillsWho we are:AXA XL, the P&C and specialty risk division of AXA, is known for solving complex risks.
