BabysitterLOCATION: Early Childhood Center WORK YEAR: Varies; as needed SCHEDULE: The number of hours weekly vary between 2-6 hours WORK STATUS: Classified, Hourly Non-Exempt REPORTS TO: Director of Early Childhood Education POSITION SUMMARY: The Early Childhood Center is seeking babysitters to assist during parenting classes, parent meetings and advisory meetings. The number of hours weekly vary between 2-6 hours. This position reports to the Director of Early Childhood Education.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide attentive and responsible supervision of children during scheduled programs and meetings.Maintain a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment for children.Engage children in age-appropriate activities, including play, reading, and simple learning activities.Assist children with basic needs as appropriate, including snacks, restroom needs, and comfort.Follow all Early Childhood Center safety, supervision, and child-care procedures.Communicate appropriately with parents and Early Childhood Center staff regarding children's needs or concerns.Maintain a clean and orderly child-care area before, during, and after activities.Report any safety concerns, incidents, or unusual circumstances to the Director of Early Childhood Education.Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and information encountered while performing job duties.Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Early Childhood Education.SUPERVISORY DUTIES: None POSITION REQUIREMENTS: RequiredHigh School diploma or G.E.D.PreferredExperience in an educational environment, knowledge of state immunization laws, and early childhood physical and dental requirements.Bilingual Spanish/English desirable.GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:Is flexible and adaptable to changeHas the ability to work collaboratively with supervisors and co-workersMaintains a positive attitudeObserves all district policies and proceduresSupports the Sheridan School District Strategic PlanESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions required the following physical demands: some lifting up to 50 pounds, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling: and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires sitting, walking, and standing. This job is performed in generally a clean and healthy environment. CLEARANCES: Must clear background check through Colorado Department of Human Services in addition to an online Records check with National Sex Offender Registry, State of Colorado Child Abuse and Neglect Registry and FBI Fingerprint check through Colorado Bureau of Investigation.SALARY: Salary based upon the classified schedule posted on ssd2.org and previous experience. The annual salary for this position will be determined by number of hours scheduled to work each day and number of days scheduled to work each year. The computed annual salary will be spread out in equal payments over 12 months. Sheridan School District employees are paid once a month on the last working day of the month that is not a weekend day or holiday.BENEFITS: Employees who are scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week in the 2026/2027 school year are eligible to obtain district health benefits which include medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance and supplemental benefits. Positions that qualify for health benefits also qualify for leave which could include vacation and daily leave to be determined by the position and number of days assigned. Sheridan School District No. 2 is a public employer and participates in the Colorado Public Employees' Retirement Association (PERA). All employees are required by state statute to contribute 11% of salary on a pre-tax basis to PERA.
