Speech/Language Pathologist

Blue Regional School District – RSU 9 Position: Speech/Language Pathologist (Special Education, Districtwide, Pre K‑12) Responsibilities Administer screening tests and comprehensive diagnostic evaluations/assessments. Case manage students with speech/language impairments; develop individualized goals and write Individualized Education Plans consistent with State/Federal laws and regulations. Participate in IEP meetings and plan/implement therapy, using individual, small group, inclusive, and coaching/consultation models. Collect data on student performance and report quarterly progress for individual students. Consult and work collaboratively with specialists and regular education teachers. Maintain thorough knowledge of speech/language pathology theory, principles, and methods and apply them appropriately in the educational environment. Complete and maintain documentation for billing purposes in a timely and accurate manner. Communicate effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing conditions. Maintain ethical behavior and confidentiality regarding student information. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Experience with students having speech/language impairments, including social cognitive impairments, receptive and expressive language disorders, and delays. Strong preference for experience working directly with students with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder. Minimum of 3 years relevant experience (preferred). Master’s degree preferred. Citizenship, residency, or work visa required. Certifications Licensed by the Maine Board of Examiners of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists. Certificate of Clinical Competence preferred. Successful background, criminal records, fingerprinting, and reference check completed with the Maine DOE. Employment Details Reports To: Director of Special Education Services Terms of Employment: As determined annually by the District. Evaluation: Completed annually by the Director of Special Education Services or the designated representative. FLSA Status: Exempt Schedule & Travel School year – 180 days. Full or part‑time opportunities available. Travel between schools or district buildings is required.
