Lab Aide

Lab Aide Acupath laboratories, Inc. operates a CLIA-approved, NYS-licensed, and CAP-accredited Diagnostics Division that includes Molecular Genetic and FISH testing. Acupath is a 24 hour/7 day a week facility. Lab Aides are an essential part of the team of laboratory health care professionals. They assist the lab technical staff and pathologists in performing a variety of semi-skilled tasks and/or clerical duties that are critical to the diagnostic process in determining health and disease. Pay Range: $20.00 - $22.00 / hour Responsibilities Prepares and processes patient specimens for analysis. Adheres to written internal and external quality control procedures in order to ensure the quality of all test results. Performs routine and/or preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment. Loading and unloading automated processors. Organize case trays and slides. Identifying and reporting any issues with equipment or processes to senior lab personnel. Works with the team to ensure adequate reagent and supply inventory levels at all times. Following safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Uses Infection Control practices and procedures including, but not limited to, wearing gloves, goggles, protective masks and other safety equipment. Perform other tasks as required. Qualifications High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience. Previous experience in the clinical lab space preferred.
