Payroll SpecialistThe Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing and processing payroll operations while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. This role will support payroll-related reporting, maintain employee payroll records, and collaborate with internal teams to resolve payroll inquiries and ensure smooth payroll processes. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and proactive, with a strong understanding of payroll systems and compliance requirements. This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams to improve efficiency, provide clear communication, and support overall business operations. This position reports directly to the Director of Finance and Operations.Responsibilities:Lead the processing of scheduled payrolls for assigned companies, ensuring precision and compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local laws.Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local tax and wage & hour regulations, including payroll tax registrations.Analyze complex payroll issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.Exercise independent judgment on matters related to compliance, compensation, taxation, and HR policies.Conduct post-payroll audits, generate reports, and recommend best practice improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.Stay up-to-date on payroll procedures and policies, implementing changes to improve departmental effectiveness.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent.At least 1 year of experience, preferably in a customer-facing role.Strong work ethic with a focus on reliability, responsibility, and attention to detail.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team and adapt to changing needs.Proactive problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities.Proficiency in Google Suite applications.Excellent data entry and typing skills with a high degree of accuracy.Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
