Custodian I

Under general supervision of the sergeant, the custodian is responsible for performing tasks to maintain the overall cleanliness of the Area facilities including, but not limited to, emptying and cleaning waste receptacles; sweeping, mopping, and waxing of floors; vacuum and shampooing rugs and carpets; cleaning, dusting, polishing furniture, woodwork and equipment (table, counter tops, shelves, electronic equipment, and any other items which accumulate dust); cleaning doors, ceilings, walls, window shades and blinds, window sills, light fixtures, and interior windows; conduct daily cleaning of all restrooms by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, dusting, removing stains, and wiping toilets, urinals, showers, floors, walls, stalls, doors, sinks, counters, mirrors, dispensers and fixtures, as well as re-supplying all paper products and soap; check plumbing fixtures and making notification to supervisor of any repairs, leaks and damage; cleaning break rooms including appliances, tables, chairs, cabinets, counter tops, sinks, and refrigerators; operates scrubbers, buffers, waxers and other equipment and machinery as required.
