We are looking for an experienced Project Accounting Manager/Supervisor to support core accounting operations in Jacksonville, Florida. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing close activities, and helping ensure reporting is completed in a timely and compliant manner. The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of general ledger management, reconciliations, and audit support, along with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead monthly closing activities by reviewing timelines, preparing key entries, and helping ensure accurate financial results are delivered on schedule.

• Oversee general ledger activity to maintain the integrity of financial data and resolve discrepancies as they arise.

• Prepare and review journal entries, supporting schedules, and related documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy.

• Perform detailed account reconciliations and investigate variances to keep balances current and properly supported.

• Coordinate documentation and responses for financial statement audits, partnering with internal stakeholders and external auditors as needed.

• Monitor accounting processes and recommend practical improvements that strengthen controls and reporting efficiency.

• Assist with the preparation of financial reports and provide analysis to support management decision-making.Our client is seeking a Project Accounting Manager with strong construction accounting experience to oversee project-based accounting processes in an in-office environment. This is a hands-on role for an accounting professional who can manage the full lifecycle of project billing across multiple active jobs while ensuring accurate WIP reporting, percentage of completion accounting, job costing, close activities, and revenue recognition under ASC 606. This position will not manage a team, but it will play a key role in managing process and driving accuracy and consistency across project accounting operations. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage project billing from start to finish across multiple ongoing construction projects.
• Oversee and maintain accurate work-in-progress (WIP) reporting and support project financial analysis.
• Apply and monitor percentage of completion (POC) accounting methodologies for project-based contracts.
• Track and analyze job costs to ensure accurate project-level accounting and reporting.
• Support and execute month-end close activities related to project accounting.
• Handle revenue recognition for project contracts in accordance with ASC 606.
• Partner with project managers, operations, and leadership to resolve billing, costing, and contract accounting issues.
• Review contract terms and project financial activity to help ensure accurate invoicing and revenue treatment.
• Help improve and maintain project accounting processes, controls, and reporting workflows.
• Utilize ERP and accounting systems to support project accounting operations; Dynamics or Business Central experience is a plus.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• Strong construction accounting experience required.
• Experience managing project billing from start to finish across multiple ongoing projects required.
• Strong knowledge of WIP reporting, POC accounting, job costing, month-end close, and revenue recognition under ASC 606 required.
• Experience working with project contracts and construction-related accounting processes required.
• Dynamics or Business Central experience is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in a hands-on, process management role without direct reports.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability.
