Lab Support Technician

Job Description​

Saint Luke’s Plaza is looking for a Lab Support Technician to support our lab team.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to perform blood draws and process specimens. Our lab is a multi-disciplinary and collaborative team with diverse backgrounds and experience levels.

Job Details:

• Shift: 1130-2200. 4x10 hr shifts per week with a rotating weekend day (Sunday, 1x each 6 weeks), include a holiday over the year.

• Experience in lab and phlebotomy highly preferred

• Collects patient samples in accordance with laboratory’s policy, procedures, and regulatory standards

• Documents receipt of patient samples in the LIS/EMR; processes and prepares samples for testing.

• May perform and report basic laboratory testing, as needed.

• Uses education and experience to identify and resolve patient circumstances that might interfere with accurate sample collection

• Communicates effectively with nursing and unit staff to relay information concerning patient collections
