The specials assembler will work on special orders that require more attention to detail and are required to meet specific deadlines.Responsibilities:Verify materials being used is correct by reading the bill of materialsEnsure materials meet quality expectationsLabel units as neededDoor assembly is more complex and higher-level skill is neededEnsure quality is metAssembles fabricated parts to relatively large or heavy subassemblies and complete unitsTests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specificationsRely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the jobVerifies that components are placed in the correct position per SOPRepeat tasks until assigned other dutiesCleans up work area when shift endsMaintain a safe and clean work environmentOther duties as assignedKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environmentSolid verbal and written communication skills and basic math skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail a mustStrong analytical skills & knowledge of all door componentsAbility to work well in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to multi-taskRead and understand bill of materialsMust be able to lift up to 75+ lbs.Efficient with multiple manual machines and pneumatic equipment such as Nail Gun, Screw Gun, Router, Tape Measure, SquareMay involve some repetitive motions - bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, and pulling of parts and part containers and standing for long periods of time.Ability to organize and maintain detailed recordsDue to the open environment of the facility, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity, and coldRegular attendance and timeliness is an essential function of the job in order to avoid having any disruptions in production and customer service.Follow all operational and safety SOP's as writtenQualifications:Ability to speak, read, and write English with proficiencyAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memosHigh School Diploma or equivalent preferred not required1-2 Years in the field or related areaRequires an understanding of quality door construction standards and the use of proper assembly techniquesPrior door manufacturing or woodworking experience needed.Our Benefits:Free Medical Premiums – eligible for free or reduced cost premium (see benefit package for qualifications)Dental, Vision, Life, & Accidental InsurancePaid Parental Leave and Adoption BenefitsPaid Holidays - ability to earn additional PTO each month401(k) with Company MatchEducational Assistance ProgramAdvancement Opportunities - we promote from within the companySafe Production: Owens Corning strives to maintain a target 0% safety incident rate.
