Job 158323 - General Store Cashier / Stocker Memphis, TN Job Title:General Store Cashier / Stocker Reports to:General Manager General Responsibilities: Greeting customers. Informing customers. Establishing or identifying prices of goods. Applying the price stickers. Keying in or scanning the price of merchandise. Determining the total price. Participate in development of window displays and counter displays under the supervision of the General Manager. Keep stock rooms organized and clean. Interact with customers in a professional and friendly manner. Encourage sales and the Memphis experience. Be knowledgeable in regards to our sister venues such as Blues City Café, Club 152 on Beale, etc. When receiving incoming merchandise, check inventory to invoice and confirm shipment. Handle cash and credit transactions in an honest and professional manner. Controlling and checking outgoing merchandise. Receiving payments and reconciling them with total sales. Preparing deposits, closing the till and putting back the float. Maintaining clean and orderly checkout areas, stock rooms, and general store area. Submit to controls. Remain attentive in an often busy environment. Participate in monthly or quarterly inventory counts. Performs other job related duties as assigned. Able to prioritize the workload. Be naturally calm and focused. Be versatile, if participation in other types of activity is required. Requirements Required: Excellent interpersonal and guest service skills to deal effectively with guests, fellow employees and management, strong organizational skills to function effectively under time constraints with particular attention to detail and quality of service. Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with management, associates, and fellow employees, ability to make decisions quickly. Manage multiple tasks in very high paced and stressful environment; remain calm in a very stressful environment. Ability to frequently move freely about the office, stand for long periods and withstand various activities such as frequent walking, standing, and bending. Physical ability to withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending, kneeling, lifting and carrying items. Maintain manual dexterity to access computer via computer keyboard and operate office equipment, such as telephones, copiers, fax machine, etc.. Ability to demonstrate business acumen by creating an environment that connects individual duties to business results. Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts. Professional appearance and demeanor. Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays. Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms. Possess excellent basic math skills and have the ability to operate a cash register or POS system. Proactively handle all guest requests or concerns quickly with caring and fairness. Be organized in all areas e.g., storage areas, store displays, and stock rooms. Be able to work day and night shifts on weekdays & weekends based on the needs of the business. Physical Requirements: Ability to speak and hear. Close and distance vision. Identify and distinguish colors. Frequent walking with some standing at times. Will walk for long periods of time, possibly extended distances. Frequently lifts/carries up to 25 lbs. Occasionally lifts/carries up to 50 lbs. Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
